Snake charming is the practice of pretending to hypnotize a snake by playing an instrument called pungi or bansuri. I ran into this gentleman while out walking in Varanasi - recognizing me as a potential client he quickly pulled out his case and showed me his snakes but I was on my way to meet a friend so declined his offer to hold the snakes. Even if I wasn't on my way somewhere I would have passed on the snake handling! Saw him again the next day on he banks of the Ganges and took this shot. Despite his repeated attempts I said thanks but no thanks to holding the snakes!
