Derby Chopper Squad
20144 & 20128 approach Derby with the 1335 Newcastle to Plymouth on 10th August 1984.
A nice surprise as I was waiting at Derby for a train back to Liverpool. The inter-regional service was actually a HST diagram but was loco hauled due to industrial action.
Having arrived on 37031 on an additional York to Plymouth, I haven't the foggiest why I didn't have a run behind the 20s - my records show I caught the DMU back to Crewe. Perhaps the small EEs were removed at Derby.
The lead loco, 20144 was withdrawn in January 1990 and 20128 was renumbered to 20307 in March 1998 as part of the DRS fleet before being withdrawn in February 2013.
