Lock Shot and Two Smoking Nikons

The title concept came on the previous day when 6 of us, all kitted out with Nikon cameras, waited at this spot for a freight that never appeared.

I had to leave the 'Donny Darko 2' 1Z10 gathering early on the second day, so it was just me available to catch a freshly repainted 66134 hauling the Scunthorpe to Eastleigh rail train past Kilnhurst flood lock on the South Yorkshire Navigation in some welcome winter sunshine.

The location is quite photogenic in these parts, with the railway following the canal for a mile or two, with the Thryberg branch being predominantly a freight line, with the occasional passenger working too.

And two smoking Nikons? Well, I still carry the Nikon D5000 as back-up to the newly acquired D750, and the title looks better for that too! Friday 30.11.18.
