Peak Forest Railway Station
Opened on 1st February 1967, Peak Forest Railway Station is now used as DB Schenker's operations base for workings in and out of the nearby quarries in the Buxton area. The station was renamed "Peak Forest for Peak Dale" in 1897, as the local settlement is indeed called Peak Dale. The station was located on the Midland Raiway's Manchester extension, and was closed on 6th March 1967.
