Badlands of the Uncompahgre #4

Along the eastern flank of the Uncompahgre Valley lies a series of barren clay hills locally known as "the adobes". These badlands separate the irrigated agricultural Uncompahgre Valley from the Cimarron hills and Vernal Mesa. This shot was taken from the end of a communications service road at the summit of an adobe known as Flattop.
