Support vehicles [2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge (2 of 7)]
A Tour de France style cycling race through the mountains of Colorado, this strenuous 7 day race attracts the best cyclists in the world, including Cadel Evans of Austrailia, the winner of the 2011 Tour de France, last year's winner Levi Leipheimer and more. These photos are from stage two, a "shorter" 99.2 mile segment from Montrose to Mount Crested Butte with an altitude gain of 8,049 feet. Rather than jion the crowds in town I decided to watch from near my house east of town.
Team vehicles preceeded the race in a parade of its own. I would estimate at least one such vehicle per rider.
