Washington Monument and the Relecting Pool, Washington, D.C.

Construction of the monument began in 1848, and was halted from 1854 to 1877, then completed in 1884 (the reason for the change in color one quarter of the way up). It is 555 feet 5 1⁄8 inches (169.294 m) tall.
