Mutualism - Vatu-i-Ra Channel, Fiji
So I know I am not breaking any new ground with this image of a pink anemonefish in the safe confines of its host anemone, but these types of scenes are just too good to pass up.
My first trip to the South Pacific was over six years ago and I was shooting film back then. Little did I know these fish rarely ever sit still, darting back and forth with a feverish pace. I found them very difficult to photographic back then.
Fast forward to my recent trip to Fiji, and I not only knew what to expect, but I have also developed greater patience to sit and shoot the same subject for more than a few frames. In 2004, I couldn't be bothered.
And just for fun, let's see how many comments it takes before someone mentions 'Nemo'. ;) It's ok if you do, I will hear it a million times this summer at the art shows I attend.
