Lasting Impressions - Death Valley National Park, California
My final sunset of 2009 was a memorable one. I've already posted an image from this night once the sky turned more red and with a different rock from Death Valley's Racetrack Playa.
Here is another image from earlier in the evening when the sky turned a nice shade of gold while the sky was still blue, a perfect time to use the Singh-Ray Gold-N-Blue polarizer to accentuate these colors.
Most shots you see from the Racetrack use the rock as the focal point, but here, I thought the track and the impression the rock made (for who knows how long it sat there) were more interesting. I also liked how the rock had changed course, as if to direct me to where the sun was setting.
My frist trip to Death Valley was a memorable one and it certainly left a lasting impression.
