Port Arthur Ship Building circa 1990
Circa 1990 Film Era digital reproduction PASCOL
PortShip in a busier time with the Welcome Ship stored for the season.
The Tour Boat "Welcome" and what looks like H M C S Griffon's training tug " HMCS Queensville " out of the water for the season . That little tug is the Shipyards own service tug the "PASCOL " . The East Side Gantry Crane is still there . It has since been taken down. The large mobile crane is there to this day 2025/05/03 . Its last job was to pull a Transport Truck out of Orient Bay on Hwy 11 this past winter. It was used because of it's liffing ability at 100' extension . I believe it is a 250 ton close up crane . I rented it back in the late 70's for a job because of its lifting capabilities at 100 ' reach. So its been around for a long time.
