Canso PBY 5a originally owned by the RCAF and used in WW II as a very affective Reconasiance /Anti Submarine aircraft. At that time it had waste blisters where observers sat and some had anti aircraft weapons as well. They were removed when the planes were commercialized. Still has the Buffalo Colors and icon but no longer owned by them.
On the way back from the Rez for Gas we stopped by YQT to see a couple of Flying Boats that were parked there. Generations apart one was a Canso PBY 5a that started its career back in 1943 with the RCAF the other a more modern CL215 Water Bomber. Both were owned by the well known Buffalo Airways . The PBY is no longer owned by them.
