2022 HOLIDAY TRAIN

The CP Holiday Train is happy to be back for its 24th year supporting food banks and food shelves across our network by raising money, food and awareness for food insecurity issues.

The CP Holiday Train program has two trains, one that travels exclusively in Canada and another with stops in both Canada and the U.S.

The U.S. Holiday Train departs Montreal on November 22 and features performers Brittany Kennell and Don Amero performing in communities in Maine and eastern townships of Quebec. Lindsey Ell and JoJo Mason will perform for communities in New York, southern Ontario, and down through Chicago to Kansas City. Alan Doyle and Kelly Prescott will pick up the tour in Iowa and finish the train’s journey back to Canada with the final show in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, on December 18.

The Canadian Holiday Train departs Montreal on November 27 and follows CP tracks west to Vancouver. Performing free concerts in support of food banks from Montreal to Calgary are performers Tenille Townes and Aysanabee, while first-time Holiday Train artists McKenzie Porter and Virginia to Vegas will finish out the tour departing out of Calgary and wrapping up in the greater Vancouver area on December 18.

I set up my window pod on my truck as close to a siding as I could get so I could shoot the video around a line of Grain Cars . About 10 minutes before the scheduled arrival of the Holiday train 2 X 200 car trains showed up. Both at approx the same time. One was a grain train from out west that was on the sideing I was backed up to. Needless to say I hustled the rear of my Truck away from the tracks.. The second was a 200 + Intermodal from out west as well on the CP Eastern MainLine. After waitng for an hour to video the event I was going to be wiped by 2 very long trains. Just as both passed ; the Holiday Train showed up a little late. Thank goodness I got the capture.
