The local tugs managed through the heavy Ice to assist the Freighters into the Elevators. Using the passages cut by the Ice Breakers.
The CCGS Sameul Risley blew a motor this year and had to call in re-enforcements - The Griffon , The Pierre Radisson and even the USGC Alder for a few days. The Risley went down for about a month while they fixed her motors.
