20189259x-SharpenAI-softnessZ Moonrise over the Welcome Islands

This is a colour digital copy from a print I made back in the 80's. Its been altered back then using Kodak Etching Spray and Pencil Crayons. (no computer software back then and the computers were as big as house). About 7 coats of etching spray while bringing up the orange streaks with pencil crayons between coats in the clouds. I had a full Dark Room set up in those days to do Colour & Black and White prints up to 24" X 36"

The photo was taken in the Port of Thunder Bay circa 1989 as the moon rose over the Welcome Islands (Three Sisters) of two old working tugs in Tug Boat Basin. I used a pack of cigarets to blank out the tugs as I tried to burn in the Moon. It was about a 45 second exposure and you can see the moon starting to egg shape on me. I was trying to get some colour in the clouds at the same time but had to do it in post with the Kodak Etching spray and pencil crayons. I've used it and others for my Business Card Photos . Lots of negative space for messages.
