Greenwich Wind Farm - DORION

The 100 ton Generator Capsule. Note the Weather Station hardware and the Beacon Light on the tail of the module. Each wind mill has them so that the weather including wind, direction, temperature etc can be monitored remotely and adjustments to the unit can be made. When you are flying into Thunder Bay from the east at night you will see the 43 Flashing Red Beacon lights in sync . Look back to just north of the cottage lights in Bays End as you come over the Sibley Peninsula.

The project was developed by Renewable Energy Systems Canada and is currently owned by Enbridge Income Fund Holdings with a stake of 51%.
