Greenwich Wind Farm - DORION

 

The finished tower over 240 ft tall with the 100 ton Generating capsule on the top. Note at the base there is a small structure which is an Air Conditioning Unit needed to cool down the operating generator .

 

The project was developed by Renewable Energy Systems Canada and is currently owned by Enbridge Income Fund Holdings with a stake of 51%.

 

The power generated from the project is sold to Ontario Power Authority under a power purchase agreement for a period of 20 years, starting from 2011.

 

The project generates 275,000MWh electricity and supplies enough clean energy to power 34,699 households, offsetting 107,000t of carbon dioxide emissions (CO2) a year. The project cost is $275m.
