"Punchu Falls"

The South Chagrin Reservation in northeast Ohio is a mecca for waterfalls and to think, I had never been there before this spring! It's exciting to think that I've only scratched the surface when it comes to seeing waterfalls in northeast Ohio. A few weeks back I took my daughter to see Squaw Rock Falls on the Chagrin River in South Chagrin. There's a loop trail which also passes over two very low flow streams and very close to one more. Last week after receiving 3 or 4 inches of rain in just a few hours, I immediately drove up to South Chagrin as soon as the rain stopped. I knew if I waited just a day, the flow on these streams would've been compromised. I was in awe of the amount of water flowing over these 3 waterfalls, as I had never seen 2 of them with more than a mere trickle. This waterfall isn't even listed on the Eastern Waterfall database website, so I doubt it has an official name. If you scramble up the bank a ways from the lower loop trail, you'll find a plaque embedded in a huge boulder which says, "In Loving Memory Of Our Brother PUNCHU. You Are Forever Loved". I think I'll just call this one Punchu Falls.
