Abandoned Lodge in Quonset 7654 C
Abandoned (or at least former) IOOF lodge in a Quonset hut in Hingham, Montana, population 131, in Hill County, Montana along the historic “Hi Line” railroad.
At least I think this is Hingham. It took considerable time to find this (probable) location in Google Maps months after I shot the photo.
Couldn’t find any history on this lodge online. While I was shooting this photo, the gentleman who lived across the street stopped his yard work to chat, and asked me if I knew any history for this lodge, because he didn’t. He thought that perhaps I was so interested in the building because I had been a former member.
The International Order of Odd Fellows, sometimes called the Triple Link Fraternity – “Friendship, Love and Truth” was founded in 1819 and is still the largest fraternal organization in the world. Source: Wikipedia.
