Lavina was an important stagecoach stop in central Montana as well as train stop. In its boomtown days around the turn of the 20th century, the town beamed with optimism, the local newspaper writing, “as the town is composed absolutely of progressive, clean-minded and vigorous citizens, nothing but the utmost impossibility will retard its future growth”. Today, Lavina is still a very pretty town with several historic buildings.
