Abandoned Church 6487 B
The abandoned (or at least seldom used) Assumption Catholic Church near Broadview, Montana in Stillwater County.
I found an 8-year old article in Last Best News by Ed Kemmick that said the church was built in 1913 and is still maintained (note the metal roof) by a nearby farm family. A very pretty church!
It was raining hard when I shot this. I had sat in my car for about 20 minutes waiting for it to die-down a bit, which it never did. It took a little willpower to get wet shooting this, since it was so gloomy, but getting here had been a 30 minute side trip off my route, over muddy dirt roads, so I tried anyway.
This beautiful church would make a great Milky Way scene. Maybe next time I'm out there.
