I had been driving a couple of hours without seeing a landscape scene to shoot on account of the heavy smoke and was a bit down, thinking of how my week-long Montana road trip was kind of a bust, when I saw this fire hydrant and stopped to shoot it.
This was the point in my trip where I mostly gave up searching for landscape shots because of the bad conditions and decided to concentrate on shooting mundane things, small town scenes and small town decay.
