Lone tree on prairie with approaching storm. East of Bear Butte in South Dakota in Meade County.
Had planned on staying in Rapid City that evening, but the Weather Service was predicting up to two feet of snow and 60 mile an hour winds overnight, so headed further East, to Pierre, SD to avoid that.
Shot this photo on the way to Pierre, ahead of the storm. The wind was very strong. Had to keep my hand on the tripod to keep it from blowing-over.
