Brushes Notes

Several educators are experimenting with iPad apps trying to find a good way to take notes and do mindmapping. They've tried Adobe Ideas and Sketchbook Pro. I thought I'd try Brushes.

I used a Pogo stylus and place a piece of cloth under the heel of my writing hand so I could drag the hand just like on a pad of paper. I zoomed in and out by using my other hand. All caps are easiest to write. Dotting the 'i's and placing periods are the toughest in Brushes because it thinks it's a single tap. You have to do a small stroke. It takes some getting used to. My writing improved just in this one document from top to bottom.

I found it much easier to type in the Mail program, take a screen snapshot (hold the Home button and then press the Power button), import it into a layer in Brushes and set the blend mode to Multiply, and erase out the parts I didn't need. That's how I did the line at the bottom.
