Lichens

I will only try to identify two species in this little jungle of lichens. The yellow lichens are definitely Teloschistes chrysamthalmus, and the long seaweedy gray-green species at lower right may be Ramalina celastri. (My expensive lichen guidebook was destroyed in the Onion Creek flood in 2013, sadly.)

Lichens are fungi that form a beneficial association with algae or photosynthetic cyanobacteria. "Fungi that have discovered agriculture," as one lichen expert put it.
