Stranger # 4 of 100 (Explored 02-02-2015) *

This is Xavier who kindly agreed to be 004 of 100 in my 100 strangers project.

Xavier is French but lives in London and works in retail.

I spotted Xavier working in a shop and noted that he kind of had an old style with a modern twist. Hard to explain and perhaps a little clearer in the colour, full length portrait I took.

We talked very briefly about the project and I asked him if he would step into the street. I wanted to play around with a shallow depth of field as I have had some focusing issues when doing this. I guess its from getting too close to my subject.

So we went outside and I took a couple of close up head and shoulder shots, mid length and full length shots.

I like the close crop versions but Xavier wasn't so keen and I am therefore not using those.

Using the 85mm fixed lens for the full length portrait made him feel a little too far away. I was happy with the images but was torn between one of those and the image I am showing.

I would have liked to have shown the colour version but there is an annoying bit of bokeh by his right ear that is not so noticeable in black and white but very distracting in colour. Unfortunately my knowledge of photoshop and touching up my pictures is limited at this time.

Thank you for your time Xavier.
