Morning walk in winter
Getting motivated to go for a walk or workout can be challenging.
Especially in cold weather.
But what if the goal isn't to work out but to complete another task that seems far more critical and sometimes more appealing.
The following has worked so well for me that I no longer say, "I'm going for a walk"!
• Instead of reading a book lying down, I'm listening to an audiobook during a walk
• Instead of preparing a to-do list or planning ahead for the business sitting at the desk, I do that by walking in the fresh air
• Instead of overthinking looking at the ceiling, I overthink while walking
I say:
• I'm going to continue reading my favorite audiobook.
• I'm going to come up with my week's to-do list.
• I'm going to overthink.😋
By the end of my walk, I'll have completed my Main Quest: reading, planning, or coming up with new ideas.
The walk becomes the Side Quest!
