What is it about these Palindromic, once-in-a-century, repetitive dates that we find so interesting?
Some believe it is just apophenia - the human urge to see patterns in essentially random events.
The synchonicity is appealing....
Others believe is portends as "auspicious day"; many weddings are planned today; (and if you think a particular date is going to ensure a good marriage - good luck to you - you'll need it !)
Numerologists have their own theories; there's all sorts of interesting mathematic results using 11's:
Did you know that 111111 x 11111 = 1234554321 (that's 11 1's....)
I took the opportunity to record my take on Eleven / Eleven / Eleven:
I raced around when I got home last night collecting objects so that I could photograph "eleven pictures" of "eleven things", but after I created and uploaded the mosaic I realized that I should have tried to compose each group of objects as a square image; you'll have to take my word for it that there are 11 things in each group - even the bottles of wine (though a few are empties...)
I'll try again next year: 12/12/12 is coming !
