Armchair Traveling - Machu Picchu, Peru

Today's edition of "armchair traveling during the Coronavirus lockdown" takes me back to 2013, 7 years ago today when we were visiting Machu Picchu. On our 2nd day there, we were up really early to catch the 5:30 a.m. bus that winds up the mountain so we could be there for sunrise. It was totally worth the lack of sleep and steep climb at high elevation to get to the upper terraces to see the sun rise before all the crowds arrived.

I have a 48"x36" canvas of this scene hanging in my front hall, and everyone comments on how spectacular it is !
