Kirtland's Warbler

One of less than 4,000 known to be nesting in Northern Michigan. The year I was born (1961) there were less than 400 known to be nesting, with the help of forest rangers and the improved Jack PInes habitat the Kirtland's Warbler is flurishing! What a treat to not only learn about the DNR's efforts to revitalize this species but to also see them in their habitat of Jack Pines.
