Glassware

Some more experimentation with glassware. This was an attempt to try some 'dark field' lighting. The setup was simple, one large softbox provided the edge and top lighting. A black piece of foamcore was used behind the glassware.

While the simple setup created a nice image, I wanted a bit of highlight on the glass to show some shape. I set up a second light using a stripbox shot through a roll of vellum paper as diffusion.

The nature of the glass caused a matching reflection of the highlight to appear on the right side which I didn't want. I ended up blending two images, one taken without the highlight, one with. I then included only part of the highlight. I did some additional cleanup to remove some internal reflections and to make sure the dark areas were really black.
