The building has decayed significantly since the 1970s when thieves stole the slate roof. The chapel was provided for Calvanistic Methodist worshippers being constructed circa 1867.
Capel y Gorlan / Capel Rhosydd is believed to have functioned as a school house and Sunday School as well as a place of worship. Closure is believed to have taken place between 1932 and 1939. Up to 100 worshippers could be accommodated.
