Dexter
I love service dogs...This particular service dogs name is Dexter and he was in the final stages of being trained to sense anxiety and panic attacks. I had never heard of this type of dog before so I was very impressed. The ironic thing was that as his trainer was talking with me about it, he started to get anxieties knowing his time with Dexter was short. Dexter sensed this and started to rub himself on him, cuddle and make some chirping noises...It was both very cool to see and also very sad, but the trainer already did have another dog lined up to take his place. Still after spending all this time training him, I don't see how anyone can let a dog go. Then again, Who ever gets Dexter will be very fortunate and the trainer can be proud that he is helping someone cope with his/her problem. I can't begin to tell you how often my dogs have kept me company over the years and have heard my sob stories with out ever judging me.....On a side note, the dog very much does resemble Dexter. 8~)
*Update*
My wife had heard of these dogs and apparently they are being used for war veterans suffering from ptsd among other things.
