St. John Baptiste de la Salle

John Baptiste de la Salle was born to a rich and prominent family, but he spent his life teaching the poor. Back then, students were normally from rich families and were taught one at a time by tutors. John Baptiste de la Salle created classrooms with rows of students so many could be taught at once.

He is considered one of the founders of modern education and is the patron saint of teachers.
