Radisson Hotel Demolition
Going Going Gone is right, isn't it amazing just how fast an irreplaceable piece of history can be destroyed. Sure the hotel lost it's beautiful original exterior facade and most of its grand interior spaces to 1950's era renovations, but this was still a big piece of Minneapolis History gone forever. Just the one totally unaltered room, the Radisson's grand ballroom was worth the building being saved. In the end I can understand why there wasn't a huge public outcry over the hotel being demolished, after all the alterations to the building in the 1950's were very ugly, but hey thats why you shouldn't allow people to mess with a landmark in the first place, because nothing good can come from it.
