Tricolored Heron

St. Petersburg, Florida...

Fell in love with this little heron. I'd never realized how tiny they are. This one made the nearby snowy egrets look large. I can't get enough of those green legs and feet. Watching this bird hunt for food out on the water was a real treat. This is a very cropped shot, but I loved the expression and the colors.
