On August 20, 35 Israelis and Palestinians came for an interfaith solidarity visit to the monastery and Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes and at Tabgha, on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee.
Our Abrahamic Reunion group, included Jewish, Christian, Muslim and Druze religious leaders and and women peacemakers from Jerusalem, the West Bank and the Galilee. We were welcomed by German Benedictine Father Mathias Karl.
in an arson attack there on June 18th, rooms of the monastery were torched by Jewish extremists in a hate crime. This is one of the most important holy places for Christianity where according to Christian tradition, where Jesus fed a crowd of 5000 with just five loaves of bread and two fish.
