Jersey Bug
Tick Escape Artist
First off, I must say this is dead. It is the first and probably only dead bug on white that I've posted/will ever post. I've never posted pictures of dead bugs except for if it was a caterpillar that was mummified by a wasp or something.
Imagine my concern when I looked into the covered container next to my bed that this guy was in, and it was empty. Luckily, I found it slowly crawling across my desk in the direction of my bed. Originally I found this crawling across the living room floor where I had been sorting out my finds the night before. When I finally came around to photographing this guy, it was dead. Which is a shame since I hate ever posting pictures of dead bugs. The only reason I even photographed it at all is the same reason I saved it in the first place - It's a medium sized tick and much longer/thinner in shape compared to every other tick I've seen.
I like you you can see the mouthparts, I guess that saw in the middle is how it cuts into you and stays lodged in your skin while it sucks your blood.
