Sun Worship

Egyptian-esque structure getting hit with some rays at the Albany Street entrance to the Battery Park Esplanade.

 

The structure is part of a sculptural environment called "The Upper Room," which is meant to be a re-imagining of an ancient Egyptian temple... I'm assuming the chessboards carved into the "altar" (see behind structure) are part of the re-imagine....
