A Dinka tribesman in South Sudan tends his cattle, at a temporary camp north of Rumbek, in Lakes State. Under customary law, cattle are used like currency to pay compensation and settle disputes. Elders and local officials said the standard fine for adultery is seven cows, to be paid by offending male.
