Jerac
T-65 X-Wing
It was bound to happen. It was always a matter of time.
Amazingly though, I never built an X-Wing before because it seemed so boring and trivial, and now? I can easily put the good old X-Wing among the top three most difficult ships to get right. No surface is parallell to any other. You have to deal with thin wings with nasty understuds. You have a collection of cockpit pieces, out of which each is so fundamentally wrong it messes up the geometry. You need to fit a minifig, and most importantly, solve the opening wing mechanism, which even on studio models was wrong and caused all kinds of problems.
Are you a MOCer? You want a challenge? Make an X-Wing.
You will be surprised.
Also, how do you like mine?
This build is an effect of collaboration with BrickVault and instructions are available at their website, brickvault.toys.
There is also a youtube movie available, showing its quirk and features:
