Mosquito River
From an afternoon hike in june 2007. In the company of a few colleages from work I headed out for the mountain Skolma on a very nice afternoon. After reaching the top of the mountain I stayed behind when the others went back, hoping to catch some late afternoon/sunset light on my way down.
This was taken in the lower part of my descent from the mountain, standing in the small river that exits a lake in the Ytreflødalen valley.
The title refers to the thick swarms of mosquitos that surrounded the river at this time.
Even if there are no mosquitos visible in the picture there were so many of them that I had to keep wawing my hand in front of the lens while shooting, to keep them away from the lens. Some of the other shots from this location were ruined by insects on the lens itself or close to it. Strangely I did not get a single mosquito bite so it must have been some kind of non-biting type maybe.
