A lesson learnt

A lesson learnt: After talking with my friend Gary, I decided not to go to the Dover Patrol, but somewhere under the route posted.

So, that is why I was parked up at the edge of a field in Martin. I got distracted by a buzzard, rattled off a few shots, then noticed that my battery was nearly flat. I went back to my car to get my other camera body, just in case. I went back to the spot I was before, but was not happy.

I would walk onto the road. I checked my watch, ten to two.

I looked up.

There was the Vulcan, coming straight for me. I raised the camera, but with it set on 400mm and the dull background, it would not focus.

I tried again and again. Nothing.

The Vulcan was getting closer. Those shots I missed would have been sensational, or so I tell myself.

With the Vulcan almost overhead, I find it in the viewfinder and rattle off a few shot, this being the best.

The plane flew off, I got some OK ones, but nothing like the head on ones I should have got.
