London Calling

Of all the vinyl I've owned, the cassettes, the 45's...even the 8-tracks; of all the genres and styles I've dabbled in, the great lyricists, the concept albums, the folksy blues you find at the bottom of the bin at K-Mart; of everything I've thrown away, I never thought this would be the album that would cut me to the bone.

The worse part is that this is the "25th Anniversary Legacy Edition"...how un-punk. I only like a few songs on the album (London Calling, Lost in the Supermarket, Train in Vain). And yes, I know Rudie Can't Fail was not on that list. So sue.

The cover is what does it for me. That, and the sheer ugliness of pink and green lettering laid overtop that pure animal rage, blue-collar dynamite of an image. An image that sums up the entire twentieth century.
