Once a Rogue
Honestly? I wanted to play a 1st-level male wizard goblin, but since I was meeting everyone for the first time and didn't know the house rules, I kept it pedestrian.
And got hammered trying to save a rich kid trapped on top of a burning house. And now, I'm knee-deep in zombies.
Why didn't they just start with Keep on the Borderlands like everyone else?
Role-playing games can be the best fun in the world.
Playing a female character isn't all that different from playing a male. There are a few points where it matters, but really, in most campaigns you don't go to the creepy places. It just allows you a different point of view in the game world. I've played a lot of different monsters, species, and genders in various games...the whole point is to be something you're not for awhile.
For the record, here's Kitsune at level 1:
Class: Level 1 Rogue
Race: Halfling

Deity: Olidammara
Size: Small
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Height: 2'8"
Weight: 25 lbs.
Eyes: Amber
Hair: Russet
Skin: Pale
Strength: 12
Dexterity: 15
Constitution: 13
Intelligence: 14
Wisdom: 10
Charisma: 8
Hit Points: 7
Armor Class: 15
Speed: 20'
Fortitude: +2
Reflex: +5
Will: +2
Initiative: +2
Base Attack Bonus: 0
Weapon hand: short sword, +2 attack bonus, 1D4, critical on 19-20\x2
Off-hand: dagger, +2 attack bonus, 1D3, critical on 19-20\x2
Thrown: sling, +4 attack bonus, 1D3, critical x2
Armor: leather
Skills: Appraise +2, Balance +2, Climb +3, Craft (Woodworking) +6, Disable Device +6, Escape Artist +2, Forgery +2, Hide +8, Jump +3, Listen +6, Move Silently +8, Open Lock +6, Perform (storytelling) +3, Search +6, Sleight of Hand +4, Spot +4, Swim +1, Use Magic Device +3, Use Rope +2
Feats: Armor Proficiency Light, Sneak Attack +1d6, Trapfinding, Two-Weapon Fighting
Languages: Common, Halfling, Dwarven, Goblin
Once she levels, I'll be switching classes to wizard, then alternate between the two until I hit rogue 3/wizard 3...three words: Craft Wondrous Item. The whole character concept is a thief with a big bag of tricks, and a whole lot of attitude.
If she survives the zombie attack. Then maybe I'll go role up that goblin.
