"Red Wave Blue Hour"
It took me five years to finally win a permit to visit the Wave. I took full advantage of it by hiking in right after midnight and spending most of the day photographing there.
This shot was my favorite. The perspective is nothing new, it is the standard "classic" perspective, but this one was captured during the 'blue hour.' Multiple lights were used to accentuate the sandstone's wonderful ripples and texture. I invested a lot of time experimenting with the lighting but it sure paid dividends.
I've written a full blog about my trip to the Wave including photos, tips, and maps that you can see here: www.firefallphotography.com/tips-and-maps-for-photography...
Cheers!
