Getting Crowded

This former mining claim was converted to an art car park. Lately there has been a lot of vandalism, and a new owner that seems tolerant of the graffiti..

Most of my shots from this night are heavily light polluted with headlights, unneccesarily bright flashlights and headlamps, and I think this was an LED lantern. A side effect of social media promotion no doubt.

The pink on the car to the left and on the ridge on the right was from red and white lights of a police car that had pulled someone over on the highway nearby. A gas station is going in at that location, and massively bright lights are likely to destroy dark sky night photography here, and in the area.

Between the expanding ground-based light pollution and thousands of low earth orbit satellites being launched, these are "the good old days" for night photography. Enjoy them while you can!
