Temporary Inland Sea

Heavy rain over Death Valley National Park on October 18 created the temporary Lake Manly on the Badwater Salt Flats. This causes the salt flats to become resurfaced with a new layer of white rock salt as the salty water dries, so instead of the dirty, dusty surface that has been common in recent years, Badwater should look very different this year.
