Topaz Lake Sunrise Friday January 10

I work up early and looked outside to see if I could shoot Comet Lovejoy, but it was cloudy so I had to settle for sunrise.

 

Cokin #121 GND filter

Canon 5D Mark III with 16-35mm lens

ISO 50 and f/22 yielded a 3.2 second exposure to help smooth out the water.

 

"Camera Standard" color calibration in Adobe Lightroom 5.2

White balance 5294 kelvin

Boosted clarity +11, vibrance +8, saturation +6.

 

I also adjusted exposure, brightness, whites and shadows to get a decent image while avoiding "color puke" loss of color dynamic range in the highlights which can come from mucking with color calibration, white balance and saturation.
