ah! finally uploading something and it's something new for me: BOATS! :D
back in august I saw a documentary on these and other similar vessels of other nation. it was also the period of Dan's amazing Motor torpedo boat and those 2 combined made me start on this.
so after about a full week of designing I ordered the parts and in 4 full days I build it. sadly it kinda felt off and I decided to measure it and compare how long it should be. long story short I might have made a calculation error. so I couldn't let that slip. so another week of redesigning widening it a tad and lengthening it with around 20 studs it finally had the right dimensions. and the build was completed around September 9th. you might wonder 'why didn't you upload it?', well I contacted Dan of Brickmania concerning figures for this beauty and I also contacted United bricks for the printed tiles. and as you might have noticed Dan recently produced the Kriegsmarine sailor.
this particular model has been based on this model I found here on Flickr: www.flickr.com/photos/danimantis/4655304039/in/album-7215...
FEATURES:
-All guns can rotate 360° (yes also the front one)
-detailed propeller area
-opening front torpedo doors
- very sturdy design (I can easily hold it with one hand though it weights quite a lot :p )
-consist out of +- 4200 bricks
-right around 90 cm long (116 studs)
ps: if more detailed pictures would be needed let me know!
