Marx Bagels Step Van
Taken at All American Tire and Auto Service's shop in the Blue Ash suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio.
My spotter noticed this van and it's graphics while we were in the area. Since we both like Marx bagles and cycling, she stopped across the street and took a few shots. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me at the time, but I lucked out as the truck was still there a couple of days later when I had my camera and she was willing to give me the tme to take a few shots of my own.
Marx Bagles was started by the brother of an old HS friend of mine many years ago and became famous in the area for the quality of his Kosher offerings. He was quite a wild, crazy, loud and opinionated guy who called himself "the bagel man" and was personally involved in every aspect of his business all the way down to waiting on the customers himself. He loved to debate anybody who happened to express an opinion, particularly a political one. I think he'd bate people just to stir up an discussion. It was hard to know which side he was really on as he seemed to go with the opposite side of whoever just to keep things lively, and they often got very heated and lively.
Not too long ago, he retired, but the shop is still true to it's foundings and stil producing the great bagles they are famous for. i knew you could find them at area grocery stores in addition to the store/restaurant where they are made, but didn't know they had this cool delivery and catering food truck. I love that they painted the "Bagle Man" on the side and kept the image he first made famous. You'll note that the gogglles he is wearing are actually bagles.
